A rocket launching from a laptop, symbolizing a free landing page deployment

You have a great idea. You've coded a beautiful, simple index.html page to capture emails. Now what? You look up options and see services like Leadpages or Unbounce charging $40/month or more. Or maybe you consider WordPress, but that means dealing with databases, themes, and security updates just for one page.

This is massive overkill. For a simple HTML landing page, you don't need a complex backend. You just need a way to serve your static files.

What if you could deploy your page in 3 minutes, for $0 per month, using only Google Drive? With DriveX, you can.

Why This is a Game-Changer for Landing Pages

This method isn't just free; it's *better* for most landing pages than a heavy CMS. Here's why:

  • Zero Cost to Validate. Before you spend money, validate your idea. Launch your page, collect emails, and see if people are interested—all for free.
  • Blazing Fast Speed (Better SEO). Your site is just static HTML, served by Google. It's the fastest possible way to deploy a site. This means better Core Web Vitals scores and higher conversion rates.
  • No Database, No Hacks. A WordPress site is a constant target for hackers. A static HTML file has no database to steal and no plugins to exploit. It's fundamentally more secure.
  • Perfect for A/B Testing. Want to test a different headline? Just create a *second* free site (e.g., /LandingPage-B) and send traffic to both. No complex testing software needed.

How to Deploy Your Free Landing Page in 5 Steps

Ready? Let's get your idea online.

Step 1: Code Your Landing Page

This is the fun part. Create your index.html and style.css files on your computer. Make sure to include a form that points to your email service (like Mailchimp, ConvertKit, or even a simple Google Form).

Need a Quick Start?

Search for "free HTML landing page templates" online. Download one, customize the text, and you're ready to go in minutes.

Step 2: Upload Files to Google Drive

Go to your Google Drive account. Drag your index.html, style.css, and any images (like your logo or hero shot) into your drive.

Step 3: Set Share Permissions to "Editor"

This is the most critical step. For each file you uploaded:

  1. Right-click the file → "Share".
  2. Change "General access" from "Restricted" to "Anyone with the link".
  3. Change the role from "Viewer" to "Editor".
  4. Click "Copy link" and save it.

Why "Editor" Permission?

This DriveX requirement allows you to use our admin panel to edit your HTML code directly, without having to re-upload the file to Google Drive for a simple text change.

Step 4: Generate Your Site on DriveX

Go to our Generate Page.

  1. Google Drive Files: Paste the link for your index.html file first (this is important).
  2. Use the "Add Another File" button to add your style.css and any other files.
  3. Web Slug: Choose a clean URL (e.g., /MyNewProduct).
  4. Security PIN: Set your private PIN to manage the site.

Step 5: You're Live!

Click "CREATE WEBSITE". That's it. Your landing page is live on the internet. You can start sharing the link immediately.

Pro-Tip: Add a Custom Domain

Your page is live at drvx.net/MyNewProduct, which is great for testing. But for a professional launch, you'll want MyNewProduct.com.

You can do this for free using Cloudflare Workers. We've written a complete guide on how to connect your custom domain to your DriveX site.
